Spectator Rules

The most important rule is to be a good sport. Basketball is a game and an opportunity to teach our young athletes how to respect others. Guidelines for our tournaments are:

  • Children, athletes and spectators, are not be allowed to have a basketball in their hands in the stands or along the sidelines. If they do, it’s inevitable that a ball will roll out on the court during a game, risking injury and causing game disturbance.
  • Basketballs, and other objects including water bottles, are not to be bounced or thrown in the building. There are glass display cases, ceiling tiles, and other objects that can be broken. (Yes, this means the ever-popular "bottle flip" is not allowed...sorry)
  • Carry-ins are not allowed. We have a well-priced, diverse concession stand that should meet your needs.
  • Show respect for self and others at all times.*
  • Show respect for the officials. Good sportsmanship implies the willingness to accept and abide by the decisions of the officials.*
